Recently, GEIT has won the bid for theIndustrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Counter Integrated Card Reader Project.
Most peripherals deployed at ICBC branch counters are independent modules, which currently lead to issues such asinsufficient USB ports on business PCs andcomplicated cabling. In accordance with the counter integration task document issued by ICBC Head Office, unified procurement requirements have been established for new counter integrated card readers, aiming to integrate multiple peripherals including magnetic stripe readers/writers, contact/contactless IC card readers/writers, second-generation ID card readers, and fingerprint scanners.
The integrated card reader is a counter-side peripheral that integrates magnetic stripe reading/writing, contact/contactless IC card reading/writing, second-generation ID card recognition, and fingerprint scanning. It connects to the teller’s business PC via a USB interface. The device supports teller fingerprint login, bank card and ID card verification, and data encryption during transactions, effectively improving business processing efficiency.
The GEIT counter integrated card reader represents the latest achievement of the company’s years of R&D and technological accumulation in this field.Featuring high integration and multi-layer security protection, the product delivers enhanced reliability. With its compact, stylish, and robust design, it aligns with ICBC’s leading position in the banking industry.
By consolidating scattered counter peripherals into one unit — combining magnetic card reader/writer, IC card reader, contactless card reader, second-generation ID card reader, and fingerprint scanner — and connecting to the teller terminal via USB, the solution greatly simplifies counter setup and improves system reliability. It frees tellers from complex equipment and messy cabling, significantly boosting operational efficiency and service quality.
